Turning the TIDE is a computer learning center for children, teens, adults and senior
citizens. It provides introductory and advance classes for Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel and the Internet. We also offer a special class on record
keeping and financial management for small to medium sized nonprofit organizations and
churches.
|
In 1994, Taylor Tabernacle,
began researching the development of a community technology center. Our research demonstrated
the community’s growing need for computer literacy and Taylor Tabernacle moved forward
with its technology center. In 1998, we initiated a construction effort to refurbish an
under-utilized portion of the church's property to build a state of the art technology center.
In 2000, with assistance from local universities, Taylor Tabernacle ran a number of pilot courses to refine
the computer program's course curriculum. In 2001, Taylor Tabernacle’s community technology center, called
Turning the TIDE was launched with overwhelming success. Turning the TIDE stands for Technology and
Information Delivered for Empowerment.
